As part of the Safety Program the Youth Outreach Workers (YOW) provide a safe and positive presence in the neighbourhood by connecting with children and youth at after school programs. They build relationships with the children, youth, the parents, and community members.

This summer the YOWs were involved in different activities such as
October 11, 2012 was the first annual International Day of the Girl. The Youth Outreach Workers put on an event in the drop in for local female youths
Bullying Awareness week is November 12-18th. On Thursday November the 15th, the YOWs will be holding an information session in the drop in. Also in the evening they will be having a gathering with local female youths.
Join the Youth Outreach Workers every Monday nights to the North End YMCA.
Don't have a membership? We will PAY for your one year membership and will provide transportation on Monday nights.
Boys and Girls ages 6 - 17 are welcome.

Our YOWs partner with a variety of community organizations including Norquay School, Norquay Community Center, Boys and Girls Club, Graffiti Art Gallery, Winnipeg Police Service and the City of Winnipeg. Their summer activities include the Youth Employment Project, Community Gardening, Bike Rodeo, and the Austin Street Festival.
Over the last year the YOWs have had 5529 contacts with youth, 2461 with parents, have done 153 safe walks, 732 park surveillances, and intervened with 21 high risk incidents - 7 of which were in regards to bullying.
